It's our 20 year anniversary
Moon Executive Search celebrates its 20 year anniversary
2020 not only heralds the start of a new decade, it’s also the year that Moon Executive Search celebrates its 20 year anniversary.
In 2000, founder Vanessa Moon identified a need in the market for an executive search firm whose aim was to add the personal touch to senior-level recruitment. She wanted to create a business that established long-lasting and collaborative relationships with both executive and non-executive leaders. From this point, Moon Executive Search was born.
“Having worked in the industry for a number of years, when I established Moon Executive Search I wanted to create a business that was built on trust, that became an extension of the clients’ team and acted as brand ambassador by telling the story behind the company and role – something which is key to attracting the best talent. I am extremely proud to have been running our business for twenty years and to have built a business that has supported such a diverse range of companies and candidates. There are people I’ve worked with for twenty years and the relationship that I built when I first started the company is still valid - they still use Moon Executive Search for their search and selection campaigns,” comments Vanessa Moon, founder.
Headquartered at the Old Fire Station, Pill, Bristol, Moon Executive Search provides tailored management and c-suite search and selection campaigns to a broad client base in fast-growth sectors as well as established listed, equity-backed and privately owned clients across the UK and Europe. Utilising a national and international network of contacts Moon provides diverse, carefully selected and screened shortlists for every campaign. In 2019, Moon launched their charity practice, ‘Trusted’, which provides specialist support for charities looking to appoint Trustees or source in-house professionals.
But, what does the next 20 years hold for Moon?
“With employment levels at the highest since 1975, there are two key areas which will continue to be important in the future. Firstly tracking, spotting and engaging with the leaders of the future particularly those involved in developing technologies such as robotics, AI and blockchain. It is important to engage with individuals early on in their career and develop those lasting relationships. Secondly, brand positioning is critical. Companies need to be really aware of their perception in the market as employees want to work for a company which matches their cultural, social and ethical beliefs. The role that we play as brand ambassadors will continue to be instrumental in attracting and securing candidates who are not active in the market,” comments Simon Quinn, Director of Search.
