Bristol Drugs Project Seeks Chief Executive Officer

Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) is a charity providing harm reduction and treatment services to people who use drugs and /or alcohol. With 36 years of experience, their goal is to support people towards the changes they want to see in their lives no matter what they may be.

Following the very sad death of their much respected, long serving CEO and founding member, Maggie Telfer OBE, they are now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer.

We are looking for an impressive and energetic leader with the full range of strategic, financial, operational, governance and people skills who can take BDP into its next phase of development. The BDP ethos comes from a strong, values-based philosophy of providing quality services for people. We want someone who will use their entrepreneurial skills to innovate and be a sector leader. We need an exceptional communicator who will act as the public face of the charity, supporting the Board of Trustees to deliver BDP’s mission and providing inclusive leadership and effective management of an exciting organisation.

We are seeking candidates who have proven experience as a CEO, or people who are joining from a senior managerial role operating at a strategic level. You will have experience of managing an organisation with a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and a track record of working to tackle inequalities. You will also have a track record of leading complex change, a good understanding of charity governance and finance, and experience of strategically managing complex budgets. You will bring strong performance management experience that has delivered demonstrable service improvement.

This is an exciting time for BDP as they continue the legacy built by Maggie. For further details on BPD’s current work and programmes please visit: https://www.bdp.org.uk/

For further details about the post please contact BDP’s retained advisors, Vanessa Moon and Simon Quinn at Moon Executive Search for a briefing pack, in which you will find out all you need to know about the work and impact of Bristol Drugs Project and this exciting new role.
