The Client
HUC tackles poverty and disadvantage by investing in people and their communities. HUC operate across the eight wards in the North of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (their ‘Area of Benefit’), serving a highly diverse population of about 95,000 people.
The Campaign
Moon Executive Search was appointed to support HUC with their campaign to source five new trustees.
Expressions of Interest were sought from well-networked community leaders with strong connections to the Hammersmith and Fulham area. Additionally, candidates were sought who had commercial skill sets gained through their experience of working within Social Housing, Finance & Investment, Legal & Risk Management, or Digital Marketing roles.
Our Approach
We worked with HUC to design a bespoke recruitment process which combined search and a ‘direct to local market’ strategy. We also prepared Trustee Information Packs to provide potential candidates a detailed understanding of the Charity, the role requirements and their Trustee duties.
The Challenge
The challenge was to create a shortlist that reflected the diverse communities that HUC serves. To achieve this, we ensured we broadcast the opportunities across a wide range of local community groups to deliver a well-balanced and diverse shortlist which was also fully representative of HUC’s geographical sphere of influence.
The Solution
Our Charity Recruitment team managed the recruitment process by being the point of contact for reach out responses, screening the candidates, conducting first interviews and managing the communication channels, right through to offer and acceptance.
“I was impressed by the trouble Moon took to get to know the Charity and understand our needs. The recruitment campaign was very successful, it attracted a wide range of expressions of interest from suitable candidates and ultimately, we recruited 5 new Trustees from our community of interest with an impressive array of professional skills. Moon administered the whole process and carried out the initial due diligence, they kept us, and the candidates updated all the way through and were a pleasure to work with.” Victoria Hill, CEO, Hammersmith United Charities
