Our Client, the Quartet Community Foundation is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive to lead their fantastic organisation to the next level.

Quartet Community Foundation are an independent charity and company limited by guarantee. Originally founded in 1987 as the Greater Bristol Trust, we serve a population of about 1.1 million people in the four unitary authority areas of Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Quartet Community Foundation have instructed Moon Executive Search to present a shortlist of candidates for the role of CEO. The Chief Executive supports the Board in implementing the charity’s mission and vision and is responsible for managing the team and for providing inclusive leadership and effective management of the charity.

In the last 30 years, Quartet have made grants over £50 million and built a permanent endowment of over £40 million. They distribute around 1,000 grants each and every year to voluntary and community groups across the West of England. Quartet are the source of support to local charities, community and voluntary organisations, social enterprises and the coronavirus crisis:

The ideal candidate needs to bring energy, leadership and entrepreneurial nous to the role.  You will be a passionate communicator, and committed to taking action on the area’s social needs, and will act as an ambassador for, and the public face of, the charity in partnership with the Chair of Trustees. 

The appointee will support the Board in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity Enhance and develop the knowledge and capability of the staff including recruitment, induction, training, appraisal, motivation and succession planning

The candidate will be able to raise the profile of the organisation, including attending and speaking regularly at a wide variety of events and acting as an ambassador for the charity. They will be expected to build trusted relationships with key partners and maintain close relationships with key influencers from local civic society and wider stakeholders.

The Chief Executive lives and breathes the mission and will inspire the organisation to be the vibrant catalyst for the growth of one of the most influential charities in the region.
