Independent Property Advisor - St John's Foundation
Independent Property Advisor to the Investment Committee - St John’s Foundation.
Voluntary role, Unremunerated, c.4-6 days a year
A fantastic opportunity to join the Investment Committee of the charity, St John’s Foundation.
St John’s Foundation is a local Registered Charity (201476) that has supported the people of Bath and the surrounding area for over 845 years. Today, they work in partnership to build communities where children can grow into happy, healthy and educated members of society, while continuing to honour their founding principle of supporting older adults to live independently. Every aspect of their work is built upon their values of trust, kindness and courage, and inspired by their purpose: To change lives. For good.
The Charity launched an ambitious and bold new 10-year strategy at the beginning of 2020, and this is building on their achievements of previous years that have extended St John’s charitable reach and strengthened their capability to support and influence the work of many other charities working in Bath and North-East Somerset. Taking this further, they have tightened their focus and aim to achieve even greater impact on some of the greatest areas of social challenge faced in the region.
In this pivotal time for the Charity, they now seek an Independent Property Advisor to join their Investment Committee. The person will add value to the work of the committee in shaping and guiding the Charity’s property investment strategy. This role is voluntary; you should expect to attend c.4 committee meetings a year and 2 days ad hoc work alongside (so, 6 days pa in total).
We are seeking candidates from a property related background with a broad skill base gained either in a professional firm, developer or consultancy background, with a keen interest in and understanding of property investment. Your role will be to ensure clarity of purpose and good decision making in respect of the Investment Committee’s work, especially in relation to the implementation of property investment strategy. You will bring demonstrable and practical current or recent experience in the property market, ideally across both residential and commercial sectors. You will have a background of operating at a senior Board/strategic level, coupled with strong stakeholder management skills, in order to be an ambassador for St John’s Foundation locally and nationally.
