Chair of Trustees - Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

Bristol Old Vic Theatre School seeks Chair of Trustees.

Circa 3 days per month.

Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is an incredibly popular and important theatre school for anyone with an interest in the performing arts genres. The Chair will be fundamental in helping Bristol Old Vic Theatre School through a time of change and progression, you should have the following skillset:

  • Demonstrate a strong passion for the creative arts sector.

  • Show good experience of working within the third sector and in having the necessary gravitas in an executive career.

  • Have a good understanding of governance and the legal responsibilities of the Board in relation to the Charity Commission and Companies House.

  • Be confident in dealing with change and be able to lead positively on this.

  • Be able to show sound judgement in making measured and fair strategic decisions.

  • Be charismatic with strong networking capabilities.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Have demonstrable financial acumen

  • Be able to showcase knowledge of current affairs surrounding the creative arts industry that could impact the school and its sector.

  • Be able to attend the School/Theatre physically as and when required; being local to Bristol and the South West area would be advantageous.

This role is unremunerated with reasonable expenses reimbursed.
