Two Trustees sought for Falmouth and Exeter Students Union

You will have the opportunity to make a real difference. Falmouth & Exeter Students’ Union represents and campaigns on behalf of 7560 students of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter across Penryn, Falmouth and Truro campuses, as well as on-line students. Being the student voice, The SU provides numerous events, advice service, sporting and social activities, charity fundraising, green living projects and opportunities for volunteering in the community to its members.
Falmouth and Exeter Student’s Union is a membership-led charity; run by students, for students. They are the only Students' Union in the country to represent students from two different universities.
The aim is to ensure that every student has the highest quality of education and best student experience possible during their time studying in Cornwall. They provide representation for all their students and deliver quality services that meet the needs and interests of an ever-changing and diverse student population.
We are looking to source high calibre individuals who can contribute to the strategic direction, management and financial governance as well as making sure The SU achieve their vision to have a positive impact on every members’ personal student journey.
These roles are homebased with two in-person events in Cornwall per year which is usually a day and/or an evening event (expenses paid). 4 board meetings which usually last 3-4 hours conducted online. Additional 2 sub-committee meetings conducted online, usually lasting 2 hours, meaning you can be based outside of the area.
We would like to hear from individuals across the country who have one or more of the following:
Higher Education sector experience.
Senior level human resource experience.
Legal knowledge and/or expertise in governance.
Interviews with Moon Executive Search will be conducted throughout the search campaign.
Interviews with Falmouth & Exeter Students’ Union will take place on the 25th & 26th April 2022 please also note down your preference in your covering letter.
