The Royal West of England Academy in Bristol is the UK’s only regional Royal Academy of Art, housed in its own, original purpose-built gallery. The Board of this independent charity is now looking for a new Trustee to provide guidance to the Executive Team.

The RWA have an extensive programme of exhibitions, events, workshops, talks and lectures, the RWA is committed to providing great art for everybody, and to promoting the understanding and enjoyment of art for the widest possible audience.

In the role of their new trustee, they are interested to hear from people with experience in the following areas:

·         General commercial or business experience

·         A great network within the business sector

·         Knowledge/experience relevant to the Arts and creative industries

·         A good understanding of corporate governance in the public and private sectors

Whilst RWA operates across the wider region, there is still a core focus on the South-west and the surrounding area. As such, although it is not essential that prospective candidates are based in the South-west, it is important that they have a good understanding of the South-west region in terms of networks in which RWA operates.
