It is 75 years since Victory was declared in Europe, resulting in spontaneous celebrations breaking out across the nation.
On the 8th of May 1945, a national holiday was declared and people from all walks of life came together to mark VE Day. Today, we salute those who contributed towards the victory.
We thought it would be fit to commemorate our relatives that took part in the war effort. It almost feels like they may have crossed paths at some point in their time. Click on the pictures below to find out more about the people that made us.

Sandy’s grandmother, Millie Dearman (married to Eddie Davis) and worked in the NAAFI where she met her other grandfather Fred Hinks in the canteen and served him his dinner.
The spirit of our grandparents generation is very much required under our current circumstances. The fortitude and community that crisis can foster should be capitalised on.
We decided to post these stories to remind us that we are capable of much under pressure and real leaders show themselves.
