Helen Sharman Q&A @ Bristol Aerospace
As part of the museum’s year of Space 2021 celebrations, Aerospace Bristol is hosting a whole day of space-themed family fun this October half-term.
Activities will include the chance to get hands-on with robotic rovers, launch a rocket, enjoy a space science show, taste astronaut ice cream, make a space-themed keyring or badge to take home, and more. Plus enjoy everything the museum has to offer, from amazing aircraft and interactive exhibits to climbing aboard the outdoor play area and stepping on-board the last Concorde ever to fly.
But the highlight of the day will surely be a very special talk and Q&A session with Helen Sharman, the first British person in space. The talk - aimed at children aged 10+ - will reveal how Helen became an astronaut, the training she had to do before going to space, and what she did on her mission to the Mir space station.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A, lasting up to 30 minutes, where audience members will have the chance to put their questions to a real astronaut.
